Whole Wheat Pizza Crust

This recipe is very simple, inexpensive, and delicious. We never buy pizza crust from the store anymore!

WHOLE WHEAT PIZZA CRUST

  • 1 tbsp. dry yeast
  • 1 c. warm water
  • 2 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tbsp. soy flour (or all-purpose if you don't have soy)
  • 1 tsp. honey
  1. Soften yeast in the cup of warm water. Let stand 5 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, add the rest of the ingredients to a medium sized bowl. Mix in the yeast/water mixture.
  3. Knead 10 minutes (tiring, but the better you knead, the better the rise!). If you've never done this before, just add a bit of extra flour every time it starts to get sticky.
  4. Let rise 1 hour (if you forget about it for a few hours, its okay! it'll just be bigger).
  5. Divide into 2 balls. Flatten each on a round pizza/baking pan.
  6. Bake 4-5 minutes at 350 F.
  7. Use immediately or store in the freezer for later.
