London Broil

Ya know when I created Chef Fresco I wanted to always try to post new meals and cook great, healthy dishes. Although, sometimes I forget to tell everyone about some of my old favorites. One of these is London Broil. Nothing beats it, juicy tender, and it always makes enough for extra sandwiches, or (even better) morning steak and eggs. Not to mention it’s pretty easy to prepare and can usually be found on sale at your grocer. The marinade below features a more Asian flavor, but it paired wonderfully with our sautéed mushroom and roasted tomato meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp minced ginger
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup dark beer
  • 1/2 cup coca-cola
  • 1/4 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tbsp. Honey
  • 1 tbsp. minced garlic
  • 2 lb. London broil steak

Directions

  1. Combine ginger, soy sauce, beer, coke, teriyaki, honey, and garlic in a small bowl. Put steak into a large ziplock bag and add contents from bowl. Put in fridge for 24-48 hours.
  2. Preheat oven to 350F. Place meat on a broiler pan and bake for 10 minutes (saving marinade). Turn meat, top with remaining marinade and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Slice and serve hot.

I've never had london broil, but I'm a sucker for steak and eggs (and beer!).
